Men's Soccer Battles West Hills Lemoore Tuesday

The men's soccer team concludes its non-conference schedule this week with two road games. The Bulldogs play on Tuesday at West Hills Lemoore before taking on Chabot College on Friday, Sept. 11.

Last week, Hancock won its first game of the season, 2-1 at College of the Sequoias, before falling in its home opener 2-1 to Victor Valley. Freshmen Jorge Guzman (Righetti High School) and Carlos Paredes (Pioneer Valley High School) both netted their first collegiate goals in the victory. Mario Ramos (Righetti High School) assisted on Paredes' score in the first half, while sophomore Kelvin Esparza (Pioneer Valley High School) assisted on Guzman's. The Bulldogs lost 3-1 last season to Sequoias. They scored their first win of 2015 in the second game of the season compared to the tenth match in 2014.

Adrian Diaz (Cabrillo High School) scored in Hancock's loss to Victor Valley. Diaz, an All-Conference First Team pick last year, led the Bulldogs with nine goals a freshman.

West Hills starts the week 2-1 after falling last week to De Anza 2-1 and edging College of the Canyons 1-0. West Hills defeated Victor Valley 5-2 two weeks ago. Freshman midfielder Jordan Neves leads West Hills with two goals this season, while five others have one apiece.  Chabot begins the week 1-1, but plays at Napa on Wednesday before hosting Hancock two days later.
