Bulldogs Open Conference Play With Two Road Matches

The men's soccer team opens Western State Conference action on the road with two matches this week. Head coach Billy Vinnedge's squad finished the preseason 1-3-1.  The Bulldogs open at LA Mission on Tuesday before traveling to Santa Barbara on Friday night.

Hancock fell 4-1 at West Hills and 2-1 at Chabot College last week. Bernardo Rubio (Cabrillo HS) scored his first collegiate goal against West Hills, while Mario Ramos (Righetti HS) found the back of the net for the Bulldogs against Chabot.

So far this season, Hancock has been outscored 10 to six this season. Six Bulldogs have scored once, including Ramos, Jorge Guzman (Righetti HS), Carlos Paredes (Pioneer Valley HS), Adrian Diaz (Cabrillo HS), Tyson Perkins and Rubio.  Ramos, a freshman midfielder, has two assists to lead the Bulldogs.

Hancock will look to start off conference in winning fashion. Last season, Hancock won one conference match.  LA Mission went 2-2 during the preseason behind Bryan Suarez, a midfielder, who has three goals. SBCC is 4-0 and led by forward Nicolas Genthon who has four goals, while Carlos Archila Calderon and Jonathan Mora have two goals apiece.  LA Mission finished second in the conference during the 2014 season, while SBCC placed fourth.
