Guzman Scores Again, Bulldogs and SBCC Play To 1-1 Draw

Jorge Guzman continued his scoring barrage with a first half goal, his fourth in his last two games, as the Allan Hancock College men's soccer team battled Santa Barbara City College to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

The freshman scored his sixth goal of the season in the 23rd minute on a ball assisted by sophomore Raul Muñoz. It marked the third assist of the year for Muñoz, an Arroyo Grande High School graduate. Guzman's the team leading goal scorer has five goals over his last three matches.

The Bulldogs carried the 1-0 lead into the second half until the Vaqueros' Jason Winicki netted the equalizer in the 71st minute.

Hancock finished with eight shots in the match, while SBCC fired off 12 shots. Hancock goalie Humberto Figueroa made eight saves on the day, while SBCC keeper Zac Gottlieb stopped four shots on target.

After the tie, Hancock is 3-8-3 overall and 2-5-2 overall. SBCC is 6-3-5 for the season and 2-2-5 in Western State Conference play.

The Bulldogs host LA Mission on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m. It will be a makeup game for the league match originally scheduled for last Friday at Hancock.
