Hancock Loses Las Vegas Showcase Opener to College of Southern Nevada

The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team came up short against Southern Nevada on August 29, in a 3-1 loss in the team's first match in the Las Vegas Showcase.

Coyote's sophomore Jesus Gonzalez opened up the scoring in the 21st minute off the assists from Benjamin Stang and Ramon Urias Medina.

Hancock failed to convert a corner kick by Myles Baro. David Conable redirected the corner for a shot on goal, but was stopped by Coyotes goalkeeper Sebastian St. Jules.

Southern Nevada put up two more goals in the 38th minute by George Balcazar and again in the 74th by Bryan Montoya to go up 3-0.

Hancock freshman Eli Zuniga scored the Bulldogs lone goal in the 77th minute assisted by Alfredo Saavedra

The Bulldogs finished the game with 7 shots, 5 of those on goal.

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back against Utah State University Eastern Saturday, August 31, at 12 PM as the Las Vegas Showcase continues this weekend. Bulldogs men's soccer opens at home vs. Taft on September 6th, at 4pm.
