Men's Soccer Falls Short at Canyons, 2-1

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss in the final non-conference contest of the season at College of the Canyons on Tuesday evening. | BOX SCORE

The Cougars (6-5-0) held a two-goal lead at the halftime break after netting shots in the 9th and 41st minutes of play. Diego Cardenas used an unassisted goal to put Hancock (3-7-1) on the board in the 58th minute of action, marking his first tally of the season, but the team was unable to close the gap before time expired. 

The Bulldogs were outshot at a 20-13 margin and placed eight attempts on-frame, led by three on-target tries by Anthony Tamayo. Luis Garcia was charged with the loss in the box after allowing two goals and nabbing seven saves through 90 minutes.

Hancock will pivot to league action for the remainder of the fall slate and will open conference play on the road at Moorpark College on October 10th.
