SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A slow second half performance saw the Allan Hancock College men's soccer team suffer a 4-1 loss at home against the league-leading Santa Barbara City College squad on Friday afternoon. | BOX SCORE
Friday's loss moves AHC to an overall record of 6-9-2 and a 1-5 mark in Western State Conference (WSC) play while the Vaqueros boast an 8-5-3 total on the season and remain unbeaten with a 5-0-1 league tally.
Caleb Toldeo used a pass from Ace Espinoza to put the Bulldogs on the board in the 16th minute en route to his fifth goal of the season, but the visitors from Santa Barbara knotted the score with a successful penalty kick attempt in extra time before the first half came to a close. Action resumed with a quick goal from the Vaqueros in the opening minute after the intermission break. They went on to score a pair of goals, one in the 65th and another in the added time slot, while Hancock was forced to play down a man due to an ejection.
Santa Barbara outshot the hosts from Hancock, 17-4, and held a 5-2 advantage on the edge of the field. Max Brewster managed to snag four saves after a barrage of SBCC attempts with a complete 90-minute showing in the box.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Tuesday, November 5th, with a road trip to LA Mission College for another WSC showdown.
