Hancock Women's Basketball Falls 52-43 at L.A. Harbor

Destinee Garcia and Naomi Leopardi had eight points and 10 rebounds each, and Karly Beyers scored a team-high 10 points, but the Allan Hancock College women's basketball team suffered a 52-43 loss at L.A. Harbor on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs fell to 1-1 and L.A. Harbor moved to 2-0.

The Bulldogs led 10-8 after the first quarter, but Harbor outscored Hancock 17-5 in the second quarter to take control of the game.

Beyers hit two 3-pointers to finish with 10 points. The freshman pulled down five rebounds.

Garcia and Leopardi each had seven offensive rebounds for Hancock. Garcia also had five assists and four steals. Freshman center Grace Rosa had seven points and four boards.

Hancock finished 19 for 40 from the floor, but sank just 7 of 17 from the free-throw line.  The Bulldogs also committed 26 turnovers in the loss.

The Bulldogs will return home to host Taft at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17.
