No. 8 Women's Soccer Closes Historic Season in Round One of SoCal Regional Tournament

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The No. 8-seeded Allan Hancock College women's soccer team suffered a double-overtime loss to No. 9 College of the Canyons on Saturday afternoon during round one of the 2023 Southern California Regional Tournament. | BOX SCORE

Cynthia Ramirez put the Bulldogs on the board in the 26th minute after beating two defenders for a breakaway goal opportunity. An early ejection in the second half forced Hancock to play with just 10 on the field, which the Cougars managed to capitalize on by notching a goal of their own in the 72nd.

Both programs were scoreless through the first overtime period before they rattled off three goals across a span of two minutes in the second overtime. Canyons struck first with a tally in the 107th before Liliana Jones used a pass from Ramriez for the answer in the 109th, but COC got the final say less than 60 seconds later with the eventual game-winner.

Allan Hancock closes the season with an overall record of 15-4-3 and posted an 8-1-3 mark against league foes en route to the team's first-ever outright title crown. Through the last two seasons, the program has tallied 30 wins while suffering six losses and securing 10 ties.
