SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Sophomore forward Danielle Morgan guided the Allan Hancock women's basketball program to a season-opening victory on Friday afternoon as the Bulldogs downed Cuesta inside the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
"It feels so great to be back! It was such a relief to our entire program to have the opportunity to step back on the floor in a meaningful manner," shared head coach Cary Nerelli. "Overall, I think we responded well and I'm proud of our defensive effort tonight. We're happy with the outcome but also remaining focused on our next challenge coming up against Bakersfield."
Morgan led the AHC offense in her 2021 debut after turning in an 18 point, 15 rebound double-double performance. She was red-hot from beyond the arc, going 3-for-4 on the night, and finished shooting 44 percent from the field. The Lompoc High School alum also added three assists, two steals, and one block to her resume.
