Freshman Taylor Nevitt, the first Hancock athlete to compete in the state meet in four years, set a personal best in the shot put to finish eighth.
Taylor Nevitt won the women's shot put, and Luke Nickelson soared to the long jump title Friday at the Western State Conference Prelims.
Taylor Nevitt won the women's shot put, discus throw and javelin throw events at the WSC Coastal Meet. Luke Nickelson finished first in the men's long jump event.
